Doing the write thing...Finding a Place in Your Daily Life for Journaling โค๐Ÿ“š #ThatsWhatSheRead

My mom is the illest .... she heard me mention that this book was sold out everywhere I checked, so she ordered it for me, and was like "Oh, yeah....here you go." Lol.  โค๐Ÿ“š. I had previously received "The Year of Yes" by Shonda Rhimes as a Christmas gift from my sister the year before, and it went on to be one of my favorite books of 2016. So when i heard she was releasing a journal, I was immediately excited ๐Ÿ˜ฌ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿพ!!! Writing is a vital part of my life, and putting my ideas and intentions down on paper is my subconscious way of solidifying them into existence. Setting large, annual goals for myself has a tendency to scare the shit out of me. But, when I started to set small, daily goals for myself, the bigger things appeared more attainable and everything began to make sense. The purpose of journaling isnโ€™t to structure your imperfect days into perfect, its to document the journey, and personalize your productivity, to produce results. Sometimes, when people think of journaling as a concept, or keeping a diary, they imagine it as just another daily chore to add to their list. But, in actuality, its quite the contrary. First things first, perception is everything. As with anything, if you mentally set yourself up for failure before you even begin, then inevitably, youโ€™ll fail. Find something about it that youโ€™d look forward to, something that grabs your attention without seeming like an obligation. If you miss a day, or two, thatโ€™s fine. Just like working out, and dieting, and rehab even, lolโ€ฆโ€ฆits all habitual. Start with 3 days, then a week, then two weeks, and so forth, and so onโ€ฆeventually, keeping a personal journal will become part of your routine. It will become your therapy. And hopefully, by adding this therapeutic writing to your agenda, it will in turn help you better manage and prioritize your schedule, and your life. If you donโ€™t want to dive right into a book with empty pages, this is a great journal with daily, weekly, and monthly prompts to help navigate your thoughts, and track your progress. Itโ€™s a perfect book to keep in your purse, or your gym bag, or your car, or somewhere close by when you need to regroup, and refocus. Stay tuned for more of my own tips for documenting your personal growth, and productivity. Create your own year of yes, find what works for you, and work it :) โค๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿพ #BlackGirlsWhoRead #LiveYourBestLife #NewYear #NewAdventures #Journaling #StayTuned ๐Ÿค“
